A four-digit counter indicates the relative position of the tape. If a portion of the tape has never been recorded, the counter will not

increase or decrease during playback, FF/REW or search mode of the blank section.

CLOCK illuminates to indicate that the VCR power is in stand-by mode.

0:00 displays when the VCR has lost its clock setting.

*

*

Press the CLEAR button to reset the counter to 0000.

This VCR includes a built-in memory back-up. If there is a power failure or if the power cord is disconnected, the time and date settings,

presets, alarm list, and power loss list will remain in memory. The presets will remain in memory for a maximum of 2 weeks provided

that the VCR has been connected to AC power for at least 72 hours per week. Connection to AC power charges the back-up battery.

Check the VCR time if there has been a power failure or if the power cord has been disconnected from AC power for a prolonged

period.

*

If there is a power failure while recording and the power comes back on, the VCR will resume recording in the same record mode as

before the power failure. After the power comes back on, PF will appear in the display window. If a power failure occurs during playback,

the VCR will be in the stop mode when the power comes back on.

The power failure start time and recover time are stored in the memory and can be viewed on the power failure recall screen.

1. Press the MENU button to display the MAIN MENU.

2. Move the cursor down to POWER FAIL RECALL.

3. Press SELECT. A power failure history displays on screen.

4. Select the number of a power failure incident and press CLEAR to remove the data.

The 8 most recent power failures are stored and listed.

Toggle the CLOCK/COUNT/REMAIN button until “REMAIN” shows in the display window.

This feature calculates the time remaining on the tape based on the type of tape selected in the VHS-TAPE option under the

VCR SETUP menu.

The remaining time is displayed as HH:MM (hours:minutes).

NOTE:

*

In 48H and longer modes, remaining tape cannot be calculated because of the nonlinear progress of the tape.
