Getting Started with Livescribe™ 
Desktop

Use Livescribe™ Desktop to upload your notebooks from your Livescribe™ smartpen. Once your 
sessions are on your computer, you can view and listen to them just as you can from your Livescribe™ 
smartpen.

Installing Livescribe™ Desktop

Take a few minutes to install Livescribe™ Desktop, and another few minutes to become a member of 
the Livescribe Online community, and you will discover a wealth of new possibilities for your 
Livescribe™ smartpen. Follow the steps below, depending on if this is an upgrade or a first-time 
installation.

Installing Livescribe™ Desktop for the First Time

To install Livescribe™ Desktop for the first time:

1.

Go to the Livescribe web site (

www.livescribe.com

), and click on the 

Save and Search

 button on 

the bottom of the page.

2.

On the Save and Search page, click on the

 Mac OS X

 button to start downloading. The download 

process installs the disk image file (.dmg) and mounts a virtual disk. 

3.

During the download process, Livescribe displays the Livescribe Software license agreement. 
Accept the agreement to continue the process.

4.

Within the disk image, drag and drop the Livescribe™ Desktop application to the Applications 
folder. This automatically copies Livescribe™ Desktop.
