OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CYLINDER PRESSURE REGULATORS
1. Area of Application
These operating instructions only apply to pressure control devices from Linde. These products are marked by
nameplates, by the manufacturer’s name on the operating elements or by marking elements on pressure controlling
parts. These pressure controlling devices can also be integrated into systems. In this case the corresponding
equipment-specific operating instructions apply together with these operating instructions.
2. Basic Safety Advice
2.1 Obligations of the operator
The operator undertakes only to let persons operate pressure control devices, who are familiar with the basic
regulations on safety at work and accident prevention and have permanent access to these regulations, have read
and understood the chapter on safety and the warning notices in these operating instructions and have been trained
to use pressure control device. Safety awareness among the personnel must be checked at regular intervals. The
responsibilities for assembly, start-up and operation are to be clearly defined. Personnel in training may only operate
pressure control devices under the supervision of an experienced person. Always keep all safety and warning notices
in a readable condition.
2.2 Obligations of the personnel
All persons whose job includes working with pressure control devices, undertake to pay attention to the basic rules
and regulations on safety at work and accident prevention and to familiarize themselves with the safety regulations
with regards to the gas being used.
2.3 Application as directed
The pressure control device is to be used exclusively to release gas-type media from pressurized containers. Any
other use or extension of this purpose is not application as directed. Part of the application as directed is: paying
attention to all notices in the operating instructions, complying with the service and maintenance work required and
paying attention to the nameplates and the data sheets.
2.4 Warranty and Liability
As a basic rule our “General terms and conditions of Sales” apply. These are available to the operator at the latest on
conclusion of the contract. Warranty and liability claims in the case of damage to persons or property are ruled out if
they are due to one or several of the following causes:
Application of the pressure control device not as directed. Incorrect assembly, starting up, operation and
maintenance of the pressure control device. Operating the pressure control device while safety installations are
defective or incorrectly installed or with malfunctional safety and protection devices. Not paying attention to notices
in the operating instructions regarding transport, storage, assembly, start-up, operation, maintenance and equipping
the pressure control device. Unauthorized design changes to the pressure control device. Unauthorized changes to
the cylinder connections to use of other types of gas, exceeding the permitted input pressures, using outside or not
original gaskets. Insufficient monitoring of equipment, screw connections and sealing components which are subject
to wear and tear. Improper repairs carried out. Going either below or above the temperature range given on the data
sheet during operation or during storage. Catastrophe cases due to the effects of foreign bodies and force majeure.
This equipment is sold by Linde under the guarantee set forth in the following paragraphs. Such a guarantee is
extended only with respect to the purchase of this equipment directly from Linde or it’s authorized agent as new
merchandise and is extended to the first buyer thereof other than for the purpose of resale.
For a period of one (1) year from the date of original delivery (90 days in corrosive service) to buyer or to buyer’s
order, this equipment is guaranteed to be free from functional defects in materials and workmanship and to
conform to the description of this equipment contained in this manual and any accompanying labels and/or inserts,
provided that the same is properly operated under conditions of normal use and the regular periodic maintenance
and service are performed or replacements made in accordance with the instructions provided. Replaceable parts
of this equipment are guaranteed to be free from functional defects in materials and workmanship at the time of
original delivery and to conform at such time to the description of this equipment contained in this manual and
accompanying labels and inserts. The foregoing guarantee shall not apply if the equipment has been repaired other
than by Linde or a designated service facility, or in accordance with written instructions provided by Linde or altered
by anyone other than Linde or if the equipment has been subject to abuse, misuse, negligence, or accident.
Linde’s sole and exclusive obligation and buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy under the above guarantee is limited to
