ACT Algorithm
General
The arrhythmia detection algorithm is implemented by a proprietary
LifeWatch Technologies Ltd. software application that runs on the
cellular phone as part of the ACT system. The algorithm processes
the ECG acquired by the sensor in order to detect various ECG
arrhythmia related events. Based on proprietary QRS detection
methods, the algorithm detects Atrial Fibrillation, Tachycardia,
Bradycardia, and Pause. The algorithm uses parameters that can
be modified by the monitoring center based on a physician's order.
Tachycardia –
A rapid heart rate that exceeds the normal range for
a resting heart rate (HR). The arrhythmia detection algorithm
detects Tachycardia when the HR exceeds a programmable value
(Heart Rate Threshold) for a specified interval (Tachycardia Interval
Threshold).
Tachycardia programmable values:
Parameter name
Values
Default value
Heart Rate Threshold
120-250
200
Tachycardia Interval Threshold
2-60

Notes
The algorithm is not designed to detect ventricular
tachycardia. In case of a ventricular tachycardia
episode which meets tachycardia criteria,
tachycardia will be reported.
