Note!
For connecting BUS IN and BUS OUT, we recommend our ready-made PROFINET cables
(see chapter 11.4.5 "Accessories - Ready-made cables for PROFINET").
To set up a PROFINET network with other participants in a linear topology, the AMS 348 i
provides an additional PROFINET-RT interface. The use of this interface drastically reduces
the cabling requirements, as only the first AMS 348
i
requires a direct connection to the switch,
via which it can communicate with the host. All other AMS 348 i can be connected in series
to the first AMS 348 i , see Figure 9.2.

