8. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new hard disk drive.

Secondary hard disk drive
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Read
this first: Important safety information” on page iii.
Note: Your computer comes with a secondary storage drive bay for installing or replacing a secondary
3.5-inch hard disk drive or a 2.5-inch solid-state drive.
To replace the secondary hard disk drive, do the following:
1. Prepare your computer. See “Preparing your computer and removing the computer cover” on page 55.
2. Locate the secondary hard disk drive. See “Computer components” on page 5.
3. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the hard disk drive.
4. Pull the handle to release and remove the hard disk drive from the hard-disk-drive cage.

5. Flex the sides of the bracket to remove the hard disk drive from the bracket.
