of the new front fan assembly into the corresponding holes in the chassis, and
press the other two tabs

through the holes until the front fan assembly is secured in place.

7. Connect the new front fan assembly cable to the power fan connector on the system board. See
“Locating parts on the system board” on page 17.

Replacing the rear fan assembly
Attention:
Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding “Safety information”
on page iii and “Guidelines” on page 23.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the rear fan assembly.
To replace the rear fan assembly, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all
power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server.
2. Remove the server cover. See “Removing the server cover” on page 25.
3. Locate the rear fan assembly. See “Internal components” on page 18.
