Filter housing
The black mole carbon filter housing is installed on the right
hand side of the motor.
Inside the filter housing a jet blows air on to the housing wall.
Condensation water and oil are led by centrifugal force to the
bottom of the housing. Air flows through the mole carbon filter
cartridge, which purifies the air from residual moisture and
odours.
Filter cartridge
The high-pressure compressor is equipped with an integrated breathing air purification system. Air
is compressed up to 350 bar, dried and odour- and tasteless purified. Oil residues are bounded.
The breathing air filter cartridge consists of a molecular sieve and activated-carbon filter.
All breathing air filter cartridges are factory vacuum sealed.
We recommend unpacking the filter cartridges just before installation. Filter cartridges which are
exposed too long could be saturated with moisture and become unusable.
Maintenance intervals
Filter cartridges should be changed at the following intervals, at +20°C or more often, depending
on humidity and ambient temperature:
Standard life time at 20°C:
• 5.7 (4,5 - CO/CO2) hours for LW 320 E MC (47 (39,1 - CO/CO2) hours for LW 320 E MC /
option filter housing)
• 37.5 (31,25 - CO/CO2) hours for LW 400 E

Do not run the compressor with empty unfilled cartridges.
Only use genuine L&W cartridges.
