6.1 Basic Settings of the Microscope
Status/ Illumination menu
After the device is switched on, the status screen,
which displays the current microscope setting,
appears fi rst.
The current contrast method appears in an infor-
mation fi eld.
The information varies according to the micro-
scope confi guration. In this example, the trans-
mitted light axis is selected, the transmitted light
shutter is closed (gray) and the current values for
the brightness, aperture and fi eld diaphragm set-
tings are displayed.
The values are changed using the + and - keys.
For the brightness adjustment, you can also
chose between coarse adjustment and fi ne
adjustment in individual steps by touching the
middle of the adjustment fi eld (the key with the
numerical value).
When you toggle between the transmitted and in-
cident light axis, the operating elements change
accordingly.
In this example, the incident-light axis is selected
and the incident-light shutter open (yellow). The
type of diaphragm (round/rectangular) is also
displayed for the fi eld diaphragm setting.
Use the
+ and - keys to change the size and shape
of the diaphragm.
