Chapter 8 – Defining the Camera Back Settings

Formatting the Compact Flash Card in Portable Mode

Use this procedure to perform a quick format of your compact flash card. Quick 
format is useful in the following circumstances:

•

If you wish to erase all the data on the card

•

If the card is not performing as expected, for example, you cannot save pictures 
on the card, saving on the card takes a long time, or if you receive error 
messages concerning the card

If the compact flash card is new, or if you have used the compact flash card on a non-
Leaf digital camera back, do not perform a quick format. Perform the procedure 
detailed in 

Preparing a Compact Flash Card for Shoot

 on page 10. 

Note:  

Formatting the compact flash card erases all data on the card.
