2. SPECIFICATIONS

Surround Display
The LV 5837/LV 5838 supports surround display that shows sound field images based on L,
R, C, Ls, and Rs channels. It can also simultaneously show Lissajous curves of adjacent
channels and surround waveforms.
●
Status Display
Transmission status and audio status of digital audio signals can be displayed for 16
channels simultaneously.
●
Loudness Measurement
Momentary, short-term, and integrated loudness measurements can be performed on any
two signals from mono, stereo, 5.1 channel, and 5.1 channel downmix. The changes in the
measured loudness values can also be displayed in chart form.

Event Log and Loudness Log
Logs can be recorded with time codes and time server (LV 5838 only) information.

Synchronous Measurement of External Reference Signals and Audio Signals (LV 5838 only)
Synchronous measurement can be performed on a tri-level signal, black burst signal, 10
MHz sinusoid signal, or 48 kHz word clock signal received through the EXT REF INPUT
connector and the input audio signals.

Amplitude Measurement of External Audio Signals (LV 5838 only)
Simplified amplitude measurement can be performed on external audio signals.
●
Switching Loudness Measurement On/Off through the Remote Connector (LV 5838 only)
Loudness measurement can be started, stopped, and cleared through the remote
connector.
●
Dolby Option (to be supported in the future)
Dolby E, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus can be decoded and measured. Audio
decoding can be performed on external audio signals (LV 5837 and LV 5838) and audio
signals embedded in SDI signals (LV 5838 only).
