Changing the needle
Ensure the Power Switch is
turned off when changing the
needle.
Needle clamp screw

Flat side
a:Rasie the Needle to highest
position by turning the Hand
Wheel counterclockwise,
toward you, and lowering the
Presser Foot .
Loosen the Needle Clamp Screw
by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove the Needle from the
Needle Clamp .
Insert a new needle into the Needle
Clamp with the Flat Side to
the rear. Then tighten the Needle
Clamp Screw .
b: To check if a needle is bent.
Place the Flat Side of the
needle onto something flat (e.g.
needle plate or glass). The gap
between the needle and the flat
surface should be consistent.
Never use a bent or blunt
needle.
c: replace the needle if it is:
- Bent
-Blunt
-Point is damaged
Placing
a
scrap
of
fabric
under
the
presser
foot
and
lowering
the
presser
foot
makes
it
easier
to
change
the
needle
and
will
preclude
dropping
the
needle into
the
needle
plate
slot
.
Tighten
snugly
,
but
do
not
over
tighten
.
T
he needle must always be straight
and sharp for smooth sewing.
