7.2.8 Wiring
All wiring is run in PVC slot trunking and strapped using cable ties as required for neat
runs and general security. For short runs, where trunking cannot practicably be used,
plastic spiral binding or tie-wraps may be employed. All tie-wraps shall have loose ends
removed.
Generally Tri-rated cables will be used for all panel wiring suitably rated for the working
current rating and voltage in accordance to BSEN60204.
All cables are finished with suitable crimps and identified at both ends with ferrules as
detailed in the appropriate drawings.
1. Wiring to PLC inputs are identified by a unique wire number. Each PLC input
has its own wire number
2. Wiring to PLC Outputs are identified by a unique wire number. Each PLC
output has its own wire number.
3. Every other wire carries a unique wire number which can be found on the
appropriate drawing.
The cable colours used within the control panels are :-
