5 Before starting up
5.1
Setting up the operating unit
The operating unit is designed to be connected directly to the constant tem-
perature equipment. It can also be used remotely, for example, connected
directly to the control station PC. You can extend the LiBus connecting
cable to a maximum length of 50 m; see
The magnets integrated into the back of the casing prevent the
operating unit from slipping when placed on a ferromagnetic sur-
face, thus facilitating use of the touch display.
You can attach the operating unit directly to the constant temperature
equipment; the attachment point designed for this purpose is indicated on
the constant temperature equipment’s casing. Observe the instructions in
the operating manual of your LAUDA constant temperature equipment. The
adhesive force of the magnets on the back of the device ensure interlocking
of the operating unit during connection, and attach it in place.
5.2 Connecting the operating unit
The operating unit’s power is supplied and communication with the constant
temperature equipment is transmitted via the LiBus connecting cable.
During connection, adhere to the following order:
1.
Switch the constant temperature equipment off.
2.
Connect the operating unit’s cable to the constant temperature equi-
pment’s LiBus socket.
