RECOmmENDATIONS FOR EFFECTIvE IRONING
We recommend that you set the lowest temperature for fabrics with such decorations as
sequins, embroidery, embossing, etc.
For mixed fabrics (e.g. 40% cotton, 60% synthetics) set the temperature appropriate for the
type of fabric requiring the lower ironing temperature.
If you do not know the composition of the fabric, define the temperature by testing on a
concealed part of the item. Start with the lowest temperature and gradually increase it to
achieve the best result.
Do not iron places with traces of sweat or other stains: the hot soleplate will fix the dirt and
it will become impossible to wash off.
Dry ironing is the most effective at moderate temperatures while excessive temperature can
burn fabrics and there may be the risk of leaving burned prints on items.
To prevent silk, wool or synthetic fabrics from glossing, iron them inside out.
To prevent velvet from glossing, iron it in one direction (in the direction of the fibers) and
do not press the iron.
To minimize the number of creases do not overload the washing machine with laundry. Also
many creases form on items at very high speeds of the spin cycle.
Many fabrics are easier to iron when they are not completely dry. For example, silk is always
better to iron slightly wet.
