LX20 Backhoe Accessory Hose Kit Assembly Instructions
The following assembly instructions are for LX20 tractors equipped with a backhoe. If your tractor is equipped with a
backhoe, the accessory kit listed below must be purchased in addition to the standard third function valve kits listed on
page 1 of this installation manual. Continue to follow the assembly instructions throughout this manual, including
the IMPORTANT notices directing the reader to refer to this section for alternate assembly instructions.

Hook-up Hose Kit to Valve Port “T”
1. Connect straight-end of hydraulic hose (#49) to
elbow fitting (#13) installed into port “T” of the third
function valve (#18). Refer to
“Figure 1-1”
on page 2
for location of elbow fitting (#13).
Preparing the Power Beyond Port
1. Remove the hydraulic line that connects the tractor’s
power beyond port to the backhoe control
valve (Q). Discard component, or store for safe
keeping.
2. Install and tighten adapter fitting (#12) into the power
beyond port. Refer to “Figure 1-6” on page 4 for
location of adapter fitting (#12).

Port & Backhoe Control Valve
Refer to Figure 3-1 through Figure 3-3:
1. Route hydraulic hoses (#27 & #49) from ports “P” and
“T” of third function valve (#18) to underneath left
side of the tractor.
2. Apply a cable tie (#31) to secure hydraulic
hoses (#27 & #49) within the range of location (a) on
the tractor frame’s left side, in front of the left rear tire.

3. Route hydraulic hoses (#27 & #49) over the
transmission, under restrictor valve rod (D), and to
the right side of the tractor.
4. Secure hydraulic hoses (#27 & #49) together with a
cable tie (#31) below restrictor valve rod (D), next to
the return to tank port.

5. Route hydraulic hose (#27) to the power beyond port
and secure to adapter fitting (#12), then tighten hose
to prevent leakage.
6. Route hydraulic hose (#49) to the backhoe control
valve (Q), and secure it to the preexisting adapter
fitting previously connected to the power beyond port
hydraulic line. Tighten hose to prevent leakage.

7. Resume performing the remaining procedures in this
manual for installing the third function valve kit.
