Special Points to Note When Using the Device in Explosion-proof Areas
WARNING!
The following applies when using the FFS07 in explosion-proof areas:
•
To protect its aperture, only mount the FFS07 on a burner or a on a boiler using one of its
holders FV30, FV40, FH30, FH40.
•
Use only the types of cable specified by the manufacturer when extending cables.
•
When extending cables in the potentially explosive area, use only terminal housings that
are approved for this area. LAMTEC LAMTEC recommends the connection housing
FG24 Ex.
•
Check if cable connections fit tightly. Should there be a need to loosen the cable connec-
tion, it is to be ensured that the cables do not turn while loosening and tightening the cable
connection.
•
Note, in particular, the information on setup in EN 60079-14.
Section 12.2 (cable and grounding)
•
The connection cable (cable tail) of the compact control, regulating and display unit must
be firmly laid and installed in such a way that the cable fulfils the thermal and mechanical
loads sufficiently.
•
Opening the device may be required during commissioning and maintenance purposes.
Only open the housing of Variable1 when it is de energized. In particular, this is in accord-
ance with EN 60079-14 Annex: "Instructions for a Procedures for working safely in explo-
sive gas atmospheres "only after clearance measurement permitted by the staff
responsible for the explosion protection personnel of the operator.
See the warning on the device: WARNING – DO NOT OPEN WHEN ENERGISED
•
Opening the device may be required during commissioning and maintenance purposes.
Clean in particular the FFS07 Ex housing before opening. Avoid during disassembly and
disassembled that gross contamination can get into the interior of the housing. Before re-
mounting check the ex-gab of soiling.
FFS07 Ex:
Mount the device only with dirt-free Ex-gap. Use to facilitate, if necessary, an anti-corro-
sive grease or mineral oil thickened for assembly. Any damage to the ex-gap is equated
with the loss of the protective properties of the housing.
Disconnect the plug of Variable1 (only zone 2 and zone 22) or any other cable connection
when it is current-free.
See the warning on the device: WARNING – DO NOT SEPARATE WHEN ENERGISED
•
When using the device in the ambient temperature range, you must keep the temperature
in accordance with the temperature class.
•
If devices are so damaged that they no longer meet the requirements of the IP64 protec-
tion class, you must replace them.
•
Identification information on the device for zone 2 and zone 22: z.B.
