Troubleshooting

Windows XP Users: Go to Start >
Control Panel > Performance and
Maintenance > System > Hardware
tab > Device Manager button > USB
Controller or IEEE 1394 > click on the
plus sign next to the controller icon,
and you should see your device listed.

Is there a conflict with other device
drivers or extensions?

If you cannot see the device, recheck
the cables and try the other trouble-
shooting solutions listed here.

Consult LaCie Technical Support. See
section 6. Contacting Customer Sup-
port for more details.

The drive is not recognized.

Is the file system supported by your
Operating System?

Check the documentation for your
Operating System.

Does your computer’s configuration
meet the minimum system requirements
for use with this drive?

Check section 1.1. Minimum System
Requirements.

Was the drive originally formatted as a
removable disk?

If the drive is configured as a remov-
able drive under Windows 98SE or
Windows Me, the removable setting
will need to be re-checked each time
that the drive is taken to a new system.
To do this, go to the

Device Man-

ager

 and click on the

Drives Set-

tings

 tab.
