Cigares storage: tips
Cigars, like wine, need to be stored in special conditions in order to restore all its aromas during
tasting. Kept in a hot and humid place, tobacco can swell and Cape May split, and during the tasting,
burn unevenly and even go out regularly. Extreme humidity and unprotected also promote the growth
of moisture and bacteria.
Stored in a dry place, a cigar may dry out and lose flavor and which personality (oil, sugar ...), it will
lose its flavor and is very pleasant to smoke.
To restore all its flavor, the cigar needs a constant humidity of between 65 % and 75%, and a
temperature between 16 and 20°C. The cigar does not like temperature or humidity variations, so
make sure to keep them in a stable and controlled environment.
Ideally, for a long-term conservation, it is preferable to keep the cigar in its packaging / its original box.
The cigar should also be kept free from external smells which could soak. It must also be kept away
from light. Sealed and treated with a UV glass door, your cigars will be safe in our cigar cellar.
How long to keep my cigars?
The shelf life is a matter of taste. With age in good condition, some cigars become softer, the flavors
blend, and flavor evolves. Conservation generally recommended after the purchase is less than a year
to enjoy all the flavors, but according to the preferences you can let it age longer. There is no expiry
date for stored under good conditions cigars, it's up to you to determine your optimal shelf life and
the ideal moment to enjoy it!
