•
Make sure that the flue and the pipes to which the appliance will be connected are suitable for the operation of
the same.
•
Always leave the recommended air pocket between the insert and the walls, rear and side min. (see Picture 16 -
Picture 17)
It is recommended that you have your local usual chimney sweeper check both the connection to the stack and the
sufficient air inflow for the combustion in the installation room.
After testing the proper working of the appliance, some days from the
installation, it is possible to proceed with the construction of its
aesthetic covering.
WARNING
: During the surround building operations it must kept in mind
possible and subsequent electrical installed parts maintenance (Fans,
temperature probe, etc) and with hydraulic systems all parts connected
to the Thermo product.
3.1. CLEAN AIR ACT RESTRICTOR KIT – DEFRA – (ONLY FOR UK
SMOKE CONTROL AREAS) – (Insert 100 EXCLUDED)
To comply with the requirements of the United Kingdom Clean Air Act, for
use of appliances in smoke control areas, a permanent stop (
SF07224
)
must be fitted to prevent closure of the secondary air control beyond 40%.
This should be fitted as shown in Picture 2. (
Insert 100 EXCLUDED
)
4. FIRE-FIGHTING SAFETY MEASURES
While installing the appliance, it is necessary to respect the following safety measures (Picture 3):
a)
In front of the hearth there must not be any flammable object or construction material sensitive to the heat at
least within
80
cm; This distance can be reduced to 40 cm if you will install in front of the element to protect a
retro ventilated and heat resistant protection.
b)
Should any appliance be installed on a floor not completely refractory, it is necessary to foresee a fire-resistant
foundation, for example a steel footboard (dimensions according to the regional law)
In case the replacement of
the floor is not possible, the appliance shall be placed on a minimum 12 cm thick slab made of stone or
concrete.
The insert must work exclusively with
inserted ash drawer.
Solid combustion residuals (ashes)
must be collected in an air-tight and
fire-resistant container. The device
must never be switched on when there
are gaseous emissions or vapors (for
example glue for linoleum, gasoline
etc.). Do not deposit flammable
materials close to the same.
Warn
children
that
the
insert
becomes very hot and that it must
not be touched
.
4.1. FIRST-AID MEASURES
Should any fire arise in the stack or in the flue:
a)
Close the feeding door.
b)
Close the registers of combustion air
c)
Extinguish the fire using carbon dioxide fire-fighting means (CO
2
dust).
d)
Seek immediate intervention of FIRE BRIGADE.
DO NOT EXTINGUISH FIRE USING WATER JETS.
When the flue does not burn any more please arrange an examination by a specialist in order to find possible cracks
and permeable points.
