To remove U34, use a PLCC extractor tool. If one is not available, use a small
screwdriver inserted into the corner slots of the PLCC socket. Lever each corner
a small amount in turn until the IC comes free.
Take care not to lift one corner too much as this can bend the electrical
contacts.

If an IC puller is not available U31 and U35 can be removed using a small
screwdriver inserted between the IC and the socket. Lift each end a little at a time
until the device comes free.

U31 is marked P48-xxxx, where xxxx refers to the revision.
•
U35 is marked DGQ xxx, where xxx refers to the revision.
•
U34 is marked MST xxx, where xxx refers to the revision.
•
U33 is used in conjunction with the DIGITAL I/O option.
•
When fitting U34 check that the sloping side with an arrow indicating pin 1 is
facing towards the front of the unit (next to C128). Make sure the IC sits level in
the socket and gently press down.

Replace the cover and mains lead.
•
Switch the unit on. Go to the HOME page (press
ESCAPE
repeatedly) and press
the
FLAT
button. The software revisions will be displayed. Check these agree
with the documentation supplied with the software replacement.
