On the Google Maps screen, touch
. A blinking blue arrow indicates your current location on
the map. This feature is available when location settings are enabled. See
Enable Location

Search Maps
1. On the Google Maps screen, touch
.
2. Type the place that you want to search. You can enter an address, a city, or type of
establishment.
Tip:
Touch
to search by speaking the location you are searching.
3. Touch a matching result on the drop-down list or touch
on the keyboard. A callout
label appears on the map to indicate the location.
4. Touch the callout to open the menu for the location.
Add Map Layers
Layers allow you to view locations and additional info overlaid on the map.
To access layers, touch
while in the Maps screen.

Traffic:
Add this layer to view real-time traffic conditions with roads marked in color-
coded lines that indicate the traffic condition. This mode is available in selected areas
only.

Satellite:
Add this layer to use the same satellite data as Google Earth. The images are
not real-time and are approximately one to three years old.
●
Terrain:
Add this layer for a shaded relief view of topographic features.
●
Transit Lines:
Add this layer to provide geographic representations of transit lines. This
mode is available in selected areas only.

Latitude:
Add this layer to see your friends’ locations and share yours with them. You
may sign in with your Google Account to use this feature.
●
My Maps:
Add this layer to display Google My Maps on Google Maps of your phone.
●
Bicycling:
Add this layer to provide the road map suitable for bicycling.
●
Wikipedia:
Add this layer to provide a list of Wikipedia articles that are geo-referenced.
An extract of the Wikipedia article can be accessed by clicking on the icon, and a link to
the full version of the Wikipedia article is also available.
