Maintenance
Before proceeding with any maintenance work on the machine, it is
essential to carry out the following operations:
•
never carry out any work on the machine while it is in operation
•
the tractor Pto must be disengaged, the engine switched off and
the key removed from the starter switch
•
the machine and the tractor must be secured in a stable position;
the tractor's hydraulic linkage control must be locked to prevent it
being lowered accidentally.
After the first two (2) hours of operation, check the tightness of the
bolts and screws; also check their tightness each day before starting
work.
We recommend that you use only original replacement parts.
Each day, before starting work, check the oil levels in the gearbox and
the grease in the transmission casing.
Lubricate with multipurpose grease the levelling bar height adjuster
(every 50 hours), and the bearings of the rollers (every 10 hours).
Lubricate the drive shaft following the indications given in the figure
below.

Beware of hot surfaces and hot oil.
Changing the gearbox oil
NOTE (NGS 301-401-451) The lubricant used in the gearbox (NGS 301-401-451) is synthetic
lubricant: do not use other types of oil [original oil (PAG) ISO VG
320 DIN 51502 PGLP]
> Position an oil pan under the drain plug (31) and remove the plug.
> Unscrew the oil dipstick (32) or the filler plug (33) and the breather plug
(35) to ventilate the gearbox.
> When all the old oil has drained out, replace the drain plug (31).
> Fill the gearbox with oil of the type indicated in the table below. Replace
the dipstick (32) or the filler plug (33) and the breather plug (35).
