- The tongue of the mower must have an angle
less then 90º to the tractor’s drawbar.
DO NOT ALLOW THE MOWER TO
TURN BEYOND 90º OR THE PTO
DRIVE LINE WILL BE DAMAGED.
- Check that the lower lift arms of the three
point hitch are clear of the mower.
- Separate the two PTO shaft halves, attach
them to the corresponding shafts (tractor
and mower) and line up both half shafts side
by side as shown in the diagram. Measure
the distance D between the end of the plas-
tic tube and the plastic shield : D should
be between 1” ½ and 2” ½.
- If less then 1” ½, extend the mower hitch (E).
The bolts need to be torqued to 250 lb-ft (35 daNm).
- If more then 2” ½, shorten the mower’s drawbar.
The bolts need to be torqued to 250 lb-ft (35 daNm).
- Connect the PTO shaft and hook up the retaining chains to prevent the PTO guard from
rotating.
f) Unhooking from the straight hitch :
WARNING :
- Always park the machine on level ground.
- Lock the tongue in the transport position, then lower the header.
WARNING :
To avoid serious injury or death, stop tractor engine, disengage the PTO,
shift to «park» position or shift to neutral and set brakes :
- Remove the jack (1) from its storage position on the tongue. Set it on the hitch. Make sure the
ATTACHMENT
safety pin (2) is fully engaged in the hole.
- Remove the linch pin (3) and raise the jack
to disengage the mower from the tractor’s
drawbar.
- Disconnect the PTO shaft (4) from the
tractor and store it on the hook (5). The
PTO shaft must not be in contact with the
ground, thus avoiding damage due to dust
or dirt. The tongue contains also a holder,
which provides effective protection to the
hydraulic quick couplers.
