Gyrodine gearbox :
a) Checking the oil level :
Oil level must be checked with
the dipstick fully screwed in the
gearbox.
- Clean, then remove plug (1).
- Check oil level using the dipstick (3) with
groove (4) indicating oil level.
- Refill if necessary using 80W-90 GL5 oil.
- Reinstall the fill plug using a new copper
sealing ring.
b) Draining (After the first 10 hours then every
200 hours or once a year) :
- Remove plug (1) to relieve pressure in the
gearbox.
- Put a container under drain plug (2) and re-
move.
- Allow oil to drain completely.
- Clean the magnet on the plug, reinstall with
a new copper sealing ring.
- Refill the Gyrodine gearbox to groove (6qt
10 ounces = 6 Liters).
- Reinstall the fill plug using a new copper seal-
ing ring.
