Before you start
• Unpack:
When unpacking the appliance, keep all packaging materials until
you have made sure your new Electric Barbeque is undamaged and in good
working order. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and
young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach.
• Inspect:
Unwind the cord of the temperature regulator to its full length and
inspect it for damage. Do not use the appliance if any part has been damaged
or is not working properly. In case of damage, contact our after sales support
line for advice on examination, repair or return of the damaged product.
• Read:
Make sure you read the manual to familiarise yourself with the
appliance. Pay particular attention to the safety instructions on the previous
pages.
• Wash and dry:
To remove any dust from transport, wash the grill plate, drip
tray and grill hood, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Make sure all parts are
completely dry. This applies especially to the appliance socket.
CAUTION:
Never immerse the temperature controller in water!
• Assemble:
Detailed assembly illustrations follow on the next few pages.
• Set up:
Place the Electric Barbeque on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface,
leaving enough space around the appliance for air circulation. Insert the
temperature regulator into the appliance socket and the plug into an
appropriate wall outlet.
• Heat:
After assembly and before first use, heat the Electric Barbeque on the
maximum heat setting for about 3-5 minutes with the hood closed and without
any food on it to burn off any residues left from the manufacturing process.
This may produce some fumes or odour and can be disregarded safely. It is
entirely harmless. Leave the unit powered on for a few minutes until all odour
and/or smoke has dissipated. Ensure there is adequate ventilation.
• Condition
: Before using the Electric Barbeque for the first time, we
recommend you condition the non-stick coated grill surface for long-term
protection. To do this, brush or spray a small amount of cooking oil onto the
plate with a paper towel and wipe off any excess.
• Ready!
Your new Electric Barbeque is now ready for use
.
If you do not want to
grill food at this stage, turn the heat off, disconnect the temperature regulator
and let the appliance cool.
