Aussie Beef Burgers
Ingredients
500g lean beef mince
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp sweet paprika
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
¼ cup beer
Vegetable oil for frying
150g bacon rashers
1 small tin sliced beetroot
1 pineapple, peeled and thinly sliced
2 Spanish onions, finely sliced
Pinch of salt
1 loaf of freshly baked bread of your choice (or 4 burger buns)
2 ripe tomatoes
Shredded lettuce
100ml barbecue sauce
Method
• In a bowl, combine the beef mince, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt and
pepper. Mix well and add the beer until it is absorbed. Form the mixture into
burger patties.
• Preheat the barbeque on heat setting 4 and lightly oil the grill plate.
• Place the burger patties on the heated grill plate and cook for about
10 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.
• While the patties are cooking, start grilling the bacon rashers, pineapple slices
and onion rings, turning repeatedly.
• Slice the tomatoes and cut the bread into thick slices.
• Remove the patties, pineapple, bacon and onions from the grill, and toast the
bread (buns) on the grill plate.
• Place a pattie on a toasted bread slice (bun), follow with bacon, onions,
pineapple, beetroot, tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Add a little barbecue
sauce and top with the other piece of toasted bread (bun).
