Place an appropriate container under the engine.
–
Remove oil drain plug

with the magnet.
–
Let the gear oil drain fully.
–
Thoroughly clean the oil drain plug with magnet.
–
Clean the sealing surface on the engine.
–
Mount and tighten the oil drain plug with the magnet and
new seal ring.
Guideline
Oil drain plug with
magnet M12x1.5 20 Nm
(14.8 lbf ft)

Remove filler plug

with the O-ring, and fill up with gear oil.

Too little gear oil or poor-quality gear oil results in pre-
mature wear to the transmission.

Mount and tighten filler plug
2
with the O-ring.
Danger
Danger of poisoning Exhaust gases are toxic and inhal-
ing them may result in unconsciousness and death.
–
Always make sure there is sufficient ventilation
when running the engine.
–
Use effective exhaust extraction when starting or
running the engine in an enclosed space.
–
Start the engine and check that it is oil-tight.
Finishing work
–
Check the gear oil level. ( p. 106)
16.5 Adding the gear oil

Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.
