– The tire size is specified in the Technical Specifications and in your
vehicle registration.
– Check the condition of the tires before each ride. Inspect the tires for
cuts and any embedded nails or other sharp objects.
– Observe the legal provisions effective in your country for the minimum
tread depth. We recommend replacing the tires at a tread depth of
2 mm at the latest.
– Check the tire pressure regularly when the tires are "cold". The correct
air pressure will assure a maximum driving comfort and the maximum
service life of the tire.

Checking the spoke tension
The right spoke tension is important for wheel stability and your driving
safety. A loose spoke will cause the wheel to be out-of-balance and eventu-
ally cause other spokes to become loose. Check the spoke tension regularly,
particularly when the motorcycle is new. To check, tap each spoke with the
blade of a screwdriver (see illustration). You should hear a high-pitched
sound. A low-pitched sound indicates that the spoke is loose. If necessary,
have the spokes retightened and the wheel aligned at an authorized
workshop.
