Installing the front wheel

Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
» If the wheel bearing is damaged or worn:

Replace the wheel bearing.

Clean and grease the shaft seal rings
and mating surfaces
of the spacers.

Insert the wide spacer on the left-hand side
(when looking in the direction of
travel).

Insert the narrow spacer on the right-hand side (when viewed in the direction of
travel).

Danger of accidents
Reduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the
brake discs.

Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease, and clean them with
brake cleaner when necessary.

Clean screw
and axle

–
Lift the front wheel into the fork, position it, and insert the wheel spindle.
–
Mount and tighten screw

Position the brake calipers and check that the brake linings are seated correctly.

Mount screws
on both brake calipers but do not tighten yet.
–
Operate the hand brake lever repeatedly until the brake linings are in contact with
the brake disc and there is a pressure point. Fix the hand brake lever in its engaged
position.
The brake calipers straighten.
–
Tighten screws
on both brake calipers.

Remove the fixation of the hand brake lever.

Take the motorcycle off of the front wheel stand. (

Remove the rear of the motorcycle from the lifting gear. (

Pull the front brake and compress the fork powerfully a few times.
The fork legs straighten.

Tighten screws
