7.1 Safety regulations

Sparks produced during servicing work
Explosion hazard!

Observe the safety regulations in force at the place of installation!
▷
Always perform maintenance work at an explosion-proof pump (set) outside of
potentially explosive atmospheres.

Improperly serviced pump set
Explosion hazard!
Damage to the pump set!

Service the pump set regularly.
▷
Prepare a maintenance schedule with special emphasis on lubricants, shaft seal
and coupling.
The operator ensures that maintenance, inspection and installation is performed by
authorised, qualified specialist personnel who are thoroughly familiar with the
manual.

Improper cleaning of coated pump surfaces
Explosion hazard by electrostatic discharge!

When cleaning coated pump surfaces in atmospheres of Explosion group IIC,
use suitable anti-static equipment.
WARNING
Unintentional starting of the pump set
Risk of injury by moving components and shock currents!

Ensure that the pump set cannot be switched on unintentionally.
▷
Always make sure the electrical connections are disconnected before carrying
out work on the pump set.
WARNING
Fluids, consumables and supplies which are hot and/or pose a health hazard
Risk of injury!

Observe all relevant laws.
▷
When draining the fluid take appropriate measures to protect persons and the
environment.
▷
Decontaminate pumps which handle fluids posing a health hazard.
WARNING
Insufficient stability
Risk of crushing hands and feet!
▷
During assembly/dismantling, secure the pump (set)/pump parts to prevent
tilting or tipping over.
