frothing nozzle (for example to make a cappuccino or latte).

As the machine produces steam, the pump will make a thumping
sounds. This sound is normal and is an indication that the machine is
operating properly.
n
After using the steam function, the machine purges
automatically
to cool down by pumping cold water through the
heating system. During the purging cycles of cold water, the excess
steam in the heating system is released with hot water into the drip
tray.

The steam and noise that accompany this phase are important
for cooling the machine.
