EVALUATION OF THE VALUES
REPLACING BATTERIES
Monitor long-term changes of the values over several weeks or months.
Short-term fluctuations are usually based on changes of the water percen-
tage, since fat and muscle percentage change at a slower pace.
• If you go on a diet to lose fat mass, you should notice a decrease of
weight and body fat percentage on a long-term basis.
• If the body fat percentage remains stable or even increases with a
short-term decrease in weight, you only lost water.
• If you exercise physically to build up muscle mass, you should monitor
the increase of the muscle percentage on a long-term basis.
• If you build up a great amount of muscle mass, your weight may even
increase. In this case, the muscle percentage increases simultaneously.
NOTE: since muscles contain body water, the addition of the percentage
values of the body water percentage, body fat percentage and muscle
percentage do not present a reasonable value.
