Operation:
By using the electrical equipment and operator´s panel,
it is possible to fully regulate the fan speed. It is there-
fore possible to adjust the Multiair blowers performance
to fit precisely the installation concerned.
The adjustment can either be done manually or it can
be done automatically by means of a flow/pressure
transmitter (optional).
To achieve energy savings, it is important not to run
at higher speeds than necessary, to solve the task at
hand. Furthermore, operating the blower at excessive
speeds/output could cause damage to the material be-
ing conveyed.
Display / set point
The operator´s panel on the blower is equipped with
a display (see illustration 2) that shows a value in %.
Above the figures in the display, there are 3 indicator
lights:
ACT - The blowers actual operating level
PID - Indicator for PID state
SET - The blowers set point
During operation, the blowers actual level is indicated
in the display. In PID mode, the value is indicated in
% of the pressure- or difference pressure transmitters
scale. Values between 10 and 100 % can be selected
(see figure 2 and 3).
After start-up and adjustment of
the blower for the first time, the set point is remem
-
bered, also if the electrical supply is disconnected.
During operation, the display will show the actual per
-
formance (value) constant and the ACT indicator is lit, if
the actual performance (value) is equal to the set point
value.
If the set point is changed during operation, the SET
indicator is lit and the ACT indicator turned off. If the
change in set point is significant, or the set point is out
of capacity for the blower, the display will oscillate
between actual value, "901" and set point value for
every 3 sec. until the 2 values are equal again. The dis-
play can also oscillate between ACT and SET, in case a
major change takes place, that takes longer than 3 sec.
for the blower to adapt to.
Manual operation
See illustration 2.
Starting the blower:
Press the "Start" button (1).
When the blower is in operation, a green lamp lights up.
Stopping the blower:
Press the stop button (2). The
green light in the operation lamp goes out.
In case setup with delay is chosen, "dE-" and "LAy" is
shown twice, whereafter the display counts down from
6 to 1 sec.
Increase blower performance (speed):
Press the plus (+) button (3). The button can be held
down continuously for a greater degree of adjustment.
As long as the button is pressed, the set point is indi-
cated. When the button is released, the actual perfor-
mance is indicated.
Reduce blower performance (speed):
Press the minus (-) button (4). The button can be held
down continuously for a greater degree of adjustment.
As long as the button is pressed, the set point is indi-
cated. When the button is released, the actual perfor-
mance is indicated.
The red lamp (7) indicates a fault condition. In the dis-
play is indicated "Err" and the error code (see section
"Troubleshooting").
When the error is located and solved, the fault condi-
tion can be reset with the button "Reset" (5).
Automatic operation
(PID operation - Proportional Integral Dif-
ferential operation)
See illustration 2.
Starting the blower:
Press the "Start" button (1).
When the blower is in operation, a green lamp lights up.
Stopping the blower:
Press the stop button (2). The
green light in the operation lamp goes out.
In case setup with delay is chosen, "dE-" and "LAy" is
shown twice, whereafter the display counts down from
6 to 1 sec.
Adjusting the set point for blower performance:
Depending on whether the blower is connected to the
pressure control device (pressure transmitter) for oper-
ation with constant pressure within the installation, or to
the flow control device (differential pressure transmitter)
for constant flow within the installation, the current set
point is shown in the display. It is the respective % of
the pressure/ differential pressure measurement range.
In order to determine the correct set point, the system
design data must be compared with the pressure and
