In general Zoom lenses are not recommended, too. As

Illumination with

standard condensor

: The

condensor is adjusted for 24 x 36 mm
slides.When projecting 4 x 4 slides, the dark

corners will be seen clearly

Illumination with

4 x 4 condensor

: The condensor

enlarges the cone of light and minimize the dark
corners. When projecting 4 x 4 slides, the dark
corners are almost not visible.

Please note:

The 4 x 4 condensor will not improve general eveness of illumination! It only will

reduce the dark corners when projecting 4 x 4 slides.
