PREPARATION

•

Check tool before use

for damaged parts, misalignment of moving parts, breakage, and any other

conditions that may affect operation. A damaged part should be properly repaired or replaced with

factory authorized replacement parts.

•

Use only fasteners that are recommended

for your model (See Product Specifications, page 2).

•

Always use the right tool for the job.

Select proper tool and fasteners for thickness and density

of the materials to be fastened. This tool is not intended for use on masonry, stone, concrete, or

extremely hard woods or the like.

•

DO NOT

use a tool that leaks air or does not function properly.

•

DO NOT

alter or modify tool from original design or function without approval from manufacturer.

•

NEvER

clamp or tape trigger or workpiece contact in actuated position.

•

 Properly secure materials

before pressing the tool against them. If necessary, clamp materials to

keep hands and body out of potential harm. The tool may cause work materials to shift unexpectedly.

•

DO NOT

use tool where fasteners could strike live wires, pipes or other obstructions behind work

surface.

OPERATION

• Use common sense. Stay alert and focused at all times.

•

NEvER

use tool under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

•

ALWAYS

 handle the tool with care:

  – Respect the tool as a working implement.

  –

NEvER

 engage in horseplay.

  –  Keep hands and body parts clear of immediate work area.

  – Keep fingers away from trigger when not driving fasteners.

  –

DO NOT

 discharge fasteners into open air.

  –

NEvER

pull triggers unless nose of tool is directed toward workpiece.

•

Check manual for actuation options.

•

DO NOT

overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

•   Keep face and body parts away from back of the tool cap when working in restricted areas. Sudden

recoil can result in impact to the body, especially when nailing into hard or dense material.

•

DO NOT

actuate the tool unless you intend to drive a fastener into the work surface.

•

NEvER

use tool where a fastener is directed toward anything other than the workpiece.

•  Grip handle firmly, letting the tool do the work.

NEvER

place second hand on top of tool.

•

DO NOT

force tool. During normal use, the tool will recoil immediately after driving a fastener.

DO NOT

attempt to prevent recoil by holding the tool against the work surface. Restricting the recoil

could result in a second fastener being driven from the tool.

•

DO NOT

drive fasteners on top of other fasteners or at an overly steep angle. This could cause

deflection of fasteners.

•

DO NOT

use tool if trigger does not actuate properly. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the

trigger is dangerous and

mUST

 be repaired.

•

DO NOT

drive fasteners near edge of material. The workpiece may split, causing the fastener to

ricochet, resulting in personal injury to self or bystander. Also, fastener may follow the grain of the

wood, causing it to protrude unexpectedly from the side of the workpiece.

•

DO NOT

use the tool as a hammer.
