Problem
Possible cause
What to do
The hob is not working
and the cooking zone
displays show .
There is moisture /
spilled liquid or
staining on the
control panel
Clean and dry the control panel.
After a few seconds, the display will
disappear and you can use the hob
again normally.
If you do not do this, the hob will auto-
matically switch off.
The hob switches off
unexpectedly.
The overheating
protection was
triggered.
Make sure that the cookware does
not protrude over the cooking zone
markings in the direction of the control
panel to prevent it from overheating.
Do not use cookware with a glossy base
to avoid overheating due to reflection
effects.
Heating takes an unu-
sually long time.
Fluctuations in
the power supply
system
Even fluctuations of 10 volts in the
mains supply can lead to a much longer
cooking time.
Scratches on the glass
surface
Metal abrasion or
other soiling may ap-
pear like scratches.
Glass ceramic is more abrasion resis-
tant than steel. Abrasion marks caused
by this do not represent damage and
can be removed with an appropriate
cleaning agent.
Unsuitable cookwa-
re is used.
Use cookware with a clean, even and
smooth bottom (see chapter on cook-
ware).
Unsuitable cleaning
agents or utensils
are used.
Only use cleaning agents and utensils
suitable for glass surfaces (see cleaning
chapter).
Some pans or pots
make crackling or
clicking noises.
The cookware
consists of different
metal layers.
The metal layers of the cookware
vibrate differently when heated.
This is harmless and normal.
