8.4.4 Weight Replacement
1) Apply silicone sealant to the the
sides
and
top
of the
weight, leaving the bottom open. Be sure to apply sealant
to the holes where the screws attach to the weight.
2) Thread the screws and washers into the weight. Tighten
securely.
3) Wipe off any excess silicone sealant.
Do not breathe the
fumes from uncured
silicone sealant.
These fumes are
dangerous and can
cause unconscious-
ness. They can also
cause long term
damage to body
WARNING
tissue. Read and follow all precautions
listed on the silicone sealant tube. Al-
low silicone to cure for a minimum of 24
hours before using helmet.
8.4.5 Diamond Weight Removal Tools
Required:
NOTE: This weight is optional. The standard SuperLite
®
27
®
configuration does not include this weight.
Flat Blade Torque Screwdriver
Rubber Mallet
Wooden Wedge
1) To remove the diamond weight, first unscrew and
remove the two screws and washers on the inside
of the helmet.
2) Use a wooden wedge and a mallet to break the
seal between the weight and the helmet shell.
3) Remove the weight and clean off all the old RTV
(silicone sealant).
Avoid eye contact with ac-
etone. This chemical is an ir-
ritant and may cause tissue
damage.
WARNING
8.4.6 Diamond Weight Replacement
1) Apply silicone sealant to the back side of the weight.
Be sure to apply sealant to the holes where the screws
attach to the weight.
2) Position the weight on the helmet shell.
3) Thread the screws and washers into the weight. Tighten
securely.
4) Wipe off any excess silicone sealant.
