Winterization & Storage
Storage:
It is highly recommended that the avi
-
foamguard be stored in a building out of the elements. It will not dam-
age the polyethylene tube to have water frozen inside. However, ice particles can make their way to the
pumps in the foam generators, blocking water flow and/or damaging the pumps themselves. Although a heat-
ed building is not required, and the unit can be stored in freezing temperatures, it cannot be operated. If the
possibility exists that you will need to perform an emergency depopulation during freezing temperatures, you
will need to adequately thaw your unit in a heated building ahead of operation at a nearby location.
Required Maintenance
This maintenance schedule should be followed on units that would be sitting normally dormant throughout
the year to insure proper operation. These steps should be performed quarterly each year.
Drive Belts:
Check and inspect the two drive belts for wear and tightness.
Primary & Secondary Chains:
Inspect the primary & secondary chains for proper
position & tension. The chains should deflect a
little more than 3/8”.
Tightening the chains
:
Primary Chain:
Adjustments are made by tightening/
loosening the adjustment screws connected to the
roller (D).
Secondary Chain:
Loosen the right angle gearbox
mounting bolts (item A) and adjust its position.
