1.2. Upgrading Bluetooth Firmware
The operation of the Bluetooth section of the KIA Bluetooth radio may also be upgraded to
improve performance of the hands-free, phonebook and Bluetooth music player features.
During Bluetooth firmware upgrade, all paired mobile phones will be removed from the
system but the phonebook memory contents will be maintained.
The upgrading process is simple but some precautions must be taken to ensure successful
results. Please read the following instructions and notes carefully before attempting a
firmware upgrade.
1) Set Ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
2) Turn on the KIA Bluetooth radio.
3) Connect the USB storage device with the valid firmware file to the radio.
4)
USB PLAY
appears on the display.
5) If the file is correct for upgrading,
UPGRADE
appears on the display.
6) Bluetooth Firmware upgrade takes about
3:30
to complete. During the upgrade process,
do not disconnect the USB storage device or switch of the radio or ignition switch.
NOTE:
The radio may be damaged if the upgrade process is interrupted.
7) If the system firmware upgrade is successful,
COMPLETED
will appear on the display.
8) Remove the USB storage device from USB socket of the radio.
9) Switch the ignition switch to OFF and then ON again to complete the upgrade.
