Setting up the M5300x software

•

‘Simulation mode’ enabled—This is the default mode of SFP

operation. The 

Simulation Mode 

check box is selected by default

and the 

Simulate

 button is displayed on the window. This mode is

used for offline SFP operations. In this mode, even if you select an

active module (which is connected to a chassis in powered on state),

toggling the SFP controls does not affect the signal state on the

module. The status bar on the main window shows ‘Simulation

Mode’, as shown in 

Figure 31

.
