Note that a demo ‘M5300A’ module only is displayed in Figure 29
and in Figure 30 along with other active cards. This entry appears
when “Simulation Mode” is enabled only, irrespective of state of the
chassis (On / Off) or the modules inserted in them.
• ‘Simulation mode’ disabled—This is the active mode of SFP
operation and is available when the Simulation Mode check box is
manually cleared. The Simulate button is replaced with the Connect
button on the Connect to Instrument window, as shown in
Figure 32 . In this mode, only the active modules are displayed along
with the respective chassis number, slot number and VISA address.

This mode is used for active SFP operations. In this mode, toggling the
SFP controls changes the signal state on the selected module. The status
bar on the main window shows ‘Connected to < VISA-address >’ to indicate
the module that has been selected, as shown in Figure 33 .
