9. Easy Calibration (For Eddy Current method only)
Simplified "easy" adjustment can be made in order to make Eddy Current measurement mode measurements. (Easy adjustment is not possible for the
electromagnetic measurement mode.) If the coating thickness does not exceed 500
µ
m, measurement results are as precise as those obtained using
standard foil calibration adjustments. In the easy adjustment procedure, only the substance calibrations are performed. Once substance calibrations have
been registered it is not necessary to perform this procedure each time measurements are made. However, the substance calibration procedure must be
redone in cases such as if the probe is replaced with a new one, etc.

This type of calibration adjustment is only valid for the eddy current measurement mode.

Press the key 10 times while pressing the probe against
the substrate.
• The substrate should be an uncoated (no plating, paint, etc.) sample of
the same shape and material as that to be measured.
After pressing the key 10 times the buzzer will sound
intermittently and "IF" will appear in the display.
Press the key while holding the probe toward the air.
• The probe must be in the air, don’t touch any surface or others.
