TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSES
WHAT TO DO
The appliance does not switch
on when I press button (22)
The machine is not receiving any
electric current
Button (22) was pressed too quickly
Check the electric socket with another electric
appliance and plug the machine in again.
Wait 5 seconds and keep button (22) pressed
down
The warning light (19) comes
on shortly after switching the
appliance on
The appliance door (12) is not closed
properly.
The coffee brewer unit (13) or the
coffee grounds collection tray (1) are
not in the correct position
Switch the machine off
Check that the coffee brewer unit and the coffee
grounds collection tray are in the correct position
(see CLEANING chapter)
Switch the machine back on
The warning light (19) comes
on while the appliance is
operating
The water reservoir (7) is empty or not
inserted correctly
Switch the machine off
Remove the tank, refill it and replace it, exercising
a slight downwards pressure on it, then carry out
the operations described in the SET-UP chapter
carefully
If the problem persists, carry out the controls
described in the previous paragraph
The warning light (19) lights
after the appliance has gone
through a normal coffee cycle
The coffee grounds tray is full
Switch the machine off by pressing button (22)
without unplugging it, and empty the tray
During the coffee cycle, the
coffee grinder makes a stran-
ge noise and the warning light
(19) lights up
The coffee beans have run out
Switch the machine off and refill the container
The coffee does not come out,
but the warning light (19) does
not light up
The water from the tank has not filled
the hydraulic circuit
Carefully follow the instructions given in the SET-
UP chapter
The coffee does not come
out, but the warning light (19)
lights up, or the coffee comes
out very slowly
The coffee brewer unit (13) is blocked
The hydraulic circuit is blocked by
lime scale
The coffee is ground too finely
Switch off the appliance. Proceed by cleaning
the delivery assembly ad filter (N,
Fig. 6
), and
the nozzle (U,
Fig. 8
) according to the directions
given in CLEANING.
Descale the machine
If the problem persists, try using coarser ground
coffee (see GRINDING chapter)
The coffee is not very creamy
The blend being used is unsuitable
The coffee is ground too coarsely
Try different coffee blends
Try using finer ground coffee
Generally speaking, if the machine does something unusual, try unplugging, wait for a few seconds
and then plug it back in again. Wait 5 seconds and keep button (22) pressed down in order to switch the
machine back on.
