Playing M P 3 /W MA /W A V/ AAC - LC files
• This unit can play back files with the extension
code <.mp3>, <.wma>, <.wav> or <.m4a>
(regardless of the letter case—upper/lower).
• This unit can play back files that meet the
conditions below:
– Bit rate:
M P3: 8 kbps – 320 kbps
WM A: 5 kbps – 320 kbps
AA C : 16 kbps – 320 kbps
– Sampling frequency:
8 k H z – 48 k H z (for M P3/ WM A)
44.1 k H z (for W A V )
32 k H z – 48 k H z (for AA C )
• This unit can show ID 3 Tag V ersion
1.0/1.1/2.2/2.3/2.4 (for M P3).
• This unit can also show W A V / WM A/AA C Tag.
• This unit can play back files recorded in V B R
(variable bit rate).
• Files recorded in V B R have a discrepancy in
elapsed time indication.
• This unit cannot play back the following files:
– M P3 files encoded with M P3i and M P3 P RO
format.
– M P3 files encoded with Layer 1/2.
– WM A files encoded with lossless, professional,
and voice format.
– WM A files which are not based upon W indows
M edia® Audio.
– WM A/AA C files copy-protected with DRM .
– AA C files encoded using any other application
than iTunes.
– AA C files copy-protected with FairPlay (except
those stored on an iPod).
– Files which have the data such as A I FF, AT R A C 3,
etc.
• This unit can display jacket pictures that meet the
conditions below:
– Picture size: 32 x 32 to 1 232 x 672 resolution

If you insert a DVD Video disc of an incorrect Region Code, “Region
Code Error” appears on the screen.

dual layer discs). DVD-RW dual layer discs are not playable.

It is possible to play back finR/+RW (Video format only)
discs. “DVD” is selected as the disc type when a +R/+RW disc is
loaded. +RW double layer discs are not playable.
U nplayable discs
• Unplayable disc types and formats are as follows:
– DVD -Audio/ DVD - ROM discs
– M P E G4/ DVD - VR / DVD + VR / DVD - R A M recorded in
the DVD - R / RW or + R /+ RW
– D TS- CD , S VCD (Super V ideo CD ), CD - ROM , CD - I
( CD - I R eady)
– D ivX/ M P E G4 recorded in the CD - R / RW
• D iscs that are not round.
• D iscs with coloring on the recording surface or
discs that are dirty.
• R ecordable/ R ewritable discs that have not been
finalized.
• 8 cm discs. Attempting to insert using an adapter
may cause malfunction.
D ual D isc playback
The N on- DVD side of a “ D ual D isc” does not comply
with the “ C ompact D isc D igital Audio” standard.
Therefore, the use of N on- DVD side of a D ual D isc on
this product cannot be recommended.
