Getting started
Introduction
This Quick Start Guide is intended to get a new user familiar with the operation of
the instrument. It summarizes operation for all basic measurement functions and
most features of the Integra instruments. It also summarizes the operation of the
Model 7700 switching module, which adds switching and scanning capabilities to
an Integra measurement system.
Topics that are not discussed in this guide include the following: Setups (saving
and restoring), details on triggering, dry circuit ohms (Model 2750), limits and dig-
ital I/O, multiple channel operation and advanced scanning.
NOTE
In this guide, the term “Model 27xx” refers to all three Integra instru-
ments (Models 2700, 2701, and 2750).
Reference
Details on all Model 27xx operations are provided in the Model 27xx
User’s Manual. This includes important additional information on topics
covered in the guide, and full details on topics not covered in this guide.
Details on the Model 7700 switching module is covered in the Model
27xx User’s Manual. Details on Model 7700 installation and connections
are provided in the User’s Guide supplied with the switching module.
Details on other Keithley switching modules are covered in the supplied
User’s Guide.
WARNING
Exercise extreme caution when a shock hazard is present.
Lethal voltage may be present on cable connections or test fix-
tures. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) states
that a shock hazard exists when voltage levels greater than 30V
RMS, 42.4V peak, or 60VDC are present. A good safety practice
is to expect that hazardous voltage is present in any unknown
circuit before measuring.
While learning to operate an Integra system, it is strongly rec-
ommended that only non-lethal signal levels be connected to
the front panel or switching module inputs.
