4.7 Nighttime Use
Use reflective tape on your chair and on your clothes at night or in dim light. Drivers
may have difficulty seeing you. Always watch out for oncoming drivers before moving
forward.
DO NOT go in heavy traffic areas

4.8 Weight Limit
Never exceed the combined maximum 250 lb weight limit of the passenger and
transportable items. If the weight limit is exceeded, this could cause tipping or loss of
control and result in damage to the wheelchair or injury for the user or others involved.
(Refer to Table 2 on page 5 of this manual.)
DO NOT exceed the 250 lbs (113 kg) weight limit.
DO NOT use the chair for any purpose other than transporting a passenger.
4.9 Outdoor Environment
DO NOT operate this wheelchair on slippery surfaces such as snow or ice,
unless equipped with appropriate Kartus accessories. Be extremely careful
when traveling on wet or slippery surfaces. When in doubt, do not hesitate to
ask for help.
NEVER operate this wheelchair in a swimming pool, shower or other body of
water. The chair’s tubular structure could rust and corrode from the inside,
affecting the chair’s operation.
DO NOT use your wheelchair on sandy or rough surfaces. This may damage the wheels
and axles or loosen the fasteners.
4.10 Tires
Proper tire inflation makes the tires last longer and the chair easier to use. Failure to
follow these precautions may result in damage to your wheelchair or serious injury to
the user.
DO NOT operate wheelchair if tire is not at its desired pressure (lb/po).
DO NOT over inflate the tires. Failure to follow these instructions may cause
the tire to explode and cause an injury. The recommended tire pressure is
listed on the tire’s sidewall.
