and down. This is normal .
●
Even if the batteries are used properly their capacity will decay over time,
thereby reducing the drive range (maximum distance traveled per full
charge). Thus, when the drive range becomes about 50% of what brand
new batteries would offer, it's time to replace them with new batteries.
Otherwise, the batteries may die unexpectedly leaving you in a possibly
precarious situation.
●
The drive range will be shortened when driving frequently on slopes or
uneven ground, as this consumes more battery power.
5.1.15 Freewheel Hubs
The Saber series is equipped with a freewheel hub device to allow for manual
pushing of the powered wheelchair if required. See Figure 5.3 for operation
instructions.
5.1.15.1 To Select Neutral From The Engaged Position
5.1.15.1.1Pull out the two hubs located at the center of both rear wheels, rotate
both hubs 45 degree of a turn. The wheelchair will now roll freely.
5.1.15.2 To Engage The Motors From The Neutral Position
5.1.15.2.1Simply rotate the center hubs until you hear or feel them click, push the
wheelchair slowly forward until you feel the hubs are engaged.
CAUTION
●
Always ensure that the freewheel hubs are engaged before using the
wheelchair. (i.e. Before turning on the controller)
●
The freewheel hubs can only be pulled out when the power of the
controller is turned off.
●
Avoid any hand or finger pinching injury in freewheel hub adjustment.
Do not have any other one's hand come near the wheels. When the
freewheel hubs are neutral (no brakes), we suggest that there's one
attendant for assitance.
