Emergency Brake
KS-838/KS-848 models have an emergency brake mounted on the left handlebar. If
the electromagnetic (automatic) brake malfunctions, you may use the (manual)
emergency brake to stop your scooter. (See Figure 5.13)
To operate the emergency brake, simply pull the brake lever on the left handlebar.
The emergency brake will engage; slowing you down to a complete stop. This
brake operates similar to the front brake on a motorcycle.

This brake is for emergencies only! The emergency brake is designed for usage when
the electromagnetic brake malfunctions. Do not use the emergency brake in lieu of the
electromagnetic brake. You should go to your authorized dealer/technician as soon as
possible if your electromagnetic brake has any problems.

In freewheel mode the electromagnetic brake is disengaged. Do not use freewheel
mode on an inclined plane (hill). Further, do not use the emergency brake while in
freewheel mode on a hill. Karma is not liable in case of an accident to product, user,
other persons and/or property from such actions.

Speed switch is a friendly design. Please take the operating situations and environment
as consideration, do follow the instructions for your operation safety.
6. BATTERIES AND CHARGER
6.1 Charging the Batteries

Before you attempt charging, ensure you read and understand the instruction manual
supplied with the battery charger, and you choose the correct input voltage for battery
charger.
◎
Charge your batteries if any of the following conditions occur.
If you have used your scooter for more than an hour continuously.
We recommend you charge battery after your use.
