Commissioning
6.1
Commissioning process
The first step in commissioning the wireless gateway involves localising the device in
the Ethernet network.
UPnP
The wireless gateway supports the querying of network information via standard uni-
versal Plug and Play (UPnP). In order that a wireless gateway on the Ethernet network
can be detected on a PC, support for UPnP on the PC is a requirement.
Windows displays UPnP devices on a network in Windows Explorer and supports dir-
ect access to the devices.
For a better overview, set the view of the network devices to Details in Explorer and
add the MAC address and IP address columns.
When using multiple wireless gateways, use the Ethernet MAC addresses (EUI-48) to
distinguish the devices on the network. The EUI-48 can be found on the nameplate.

Localisation via UPnP
ü
The network is equipped with an accessible DHCP server.
1. Connect the gateway to the network and switch on.
2. Localise the wireless gateway as a UPnP device in the computer's network envir-
onment.
3. Search for the localised device's IP address.
ð
The device can be found in the Ethernet network using the IP address.
